For the first time this season the PROWL Squirts won three in a row including two road games. Starting early Saturday morning to the team defeated the Jr. Admirals #1, 6-5. The team followed up Sunday AM with a victory over the Jr. Admirals #2, 7-4. The team put forth their best efforts to date with solid skating and passing all around, including #42, Conor Smyth-Young, who scored 3 goals in each game. Go Prowl!
This Thanksgiving, I ask that you add the Clunie family to your list of remembrances. Joe Clunie, former PYHA Squirt Coach, recently passed away at the young age of 35 following a long battle with cancer. Joe leaves behind his wife Crystal, their three young children (Ryan, Justin and Abby) and a host of Prowl players and parents who were touched by his unyielding energy, positive attitude and warm, caring personality. For the benefit of Crystal and the children, we have set up the Coach Joe Clunie Family Fund. If you so choose, you can donate to the fund by providing a check written out to "PYHA Clunie Fund" and mailing it to:
5007 C, Victory Blvd
PO Box 239
Yorktown, VA 23693
Or, you can just drop it off in the PYHA box at Iceplex.
PYHA will match all donations dollar-for-dollar up to $500.
So, as you share precious time with your family this week, and you think about those who are most special to you, please make room in your hearts for the Clunies - they will always remain cherished members of our extended "Prowl Family."
