Prowl Travel Hockey Program 2015-16

PYHA is pleased to announce that after a four-year hiatus, we have gained approval to re-start travel hockey participation within Chesapeake Bay Hockey League (CBHL)!

For the 2015-16 season, we are eligible to form one Pee Wee and one Bantam travel team, in addition to our normal House program teams.

-Tryouts on May 2nd & 3rd at the IcePlex (More info on the travel tryout registration link above)

-Cost $2300.00/player

-Included in that cost is:

   -50-60 one hour practices (half of which will be full ice)

   -35-45 games

   -2 tournaments

   -2 practice jerseys

   -Power Skating by Stas Jirov

-Parents/players would be expected to purchase/provide:

   -Game Jerseys (Home/Away) **, Hockey Shell**

   -Game Socks (Home/Away) **

   -Dark Helmet, dark gloves, sticks

   -Warm Ups **

   -Parent/Player travel expenses (i.e. hotels, gas & food)

   **Prowl will place order so that all items match & have proper logos

Coach Shawn Vuz will be head coach for both peewee & bantam teams, his qualifications/bio are listed under the travel coaches tab.

2nd Annual Golf Tournament

The 2nd Annual PYHA Golf Tournament was a huge success. Thank you to all who participated.

We're already thinking about the 2016 event. If you'd like to participate or help in any way, please email pyhagolftournament@yahoo.com or call Sean Nix at 707-0250.

PW team Sweeps Congressional Hockey Tournament

The PW tournament team participated in the Congressional Hockey tournament in Ashburn this past weekend and swept all four games to take the trophy.  Game scores were 7-1, 5-0, 6-3, and 5-1 in the championship game.

Squirt's Win!

The Squirts defeated the Admirals yesterday in a close game 5 - 4. The first period saw the Admiral start with an early 2 - 0 lead against the Prowl. In the second period #22 Kowalcyk scored at the 13:30 mark. There were three puck shots into the net but disallowed for goals. The Squirts did not give up and at 8:46 # 42 Smith-Young scored a tying goal and with 50 seconds left in the period #42 Smith-Young scored a second goal putting the Prowl in the lead 3-2. In the 3rd period #22 Kowalcyk scored again at 13:14 and  #96 Finnigan scored at 7:25 making the score 5-2. The Admiral's attempted a come back with #12 Hughes scoring at 1:04 and a last second goal. The final score was 5-4 Prowl winning! The Prowl had an impressive 31 shots on goal and the Admirals 27. Congratulations to the Prowl Squirts, Coach Chris and Coach Dale.
